Summary:
A look at autistic neurology and development from a neurodiversity paradigm
We invite you to come on a journey with us as we unpack what it is to be autistic. This interactive workshop is designed to delve into the autistic neurological profile and understand what autism is from a neurodiversity paradigm. Our workshop aims to fundamentally reframe how people understand and support the autistic neurotype and is a fantastic workshop for anyone who is part of the autistic community.

Aim:
To change how we conceptualise autism spectrum disorder, from a neurodevelopmental disorder to a neurological difference
Duration:
- 10 hours including 5-10 min breaks every hour

- Neurodevelopmental and cognitive differences in autistic neurology

- Autism and seeking and sharing connections with others
- Bringing it all together to understand development
Prior Knowledge:
- No prior knowledge is needed, this course is scaffolded to support all learners who are interested in understanding autism differently

- Understanding autism from a new perspective
- Learning about autism from a trauma-informed lens
- Understanding autism from the autistic perspective
- Learn about the developmental changes that can impact on autistic presentation
